Evidence-based Acupuncture for Lower Back Pain

Komyuniti’s Acupuncture Treatment for Lower Back Pain.

At Komyuniti we have clinical experience in working with acute and chronic lower back pain. We have developed our own approach and strategy – Komyuniti Musculoskeletal Acu-Technique™, which involves a combination of traditional acupuncture with the addition of trigger and motor point needling techniques. We also administer neuro-acupuncture using electro stimulation to needles to stimulate the nerves to assist with the pain and discomfort that is experienced when suffering from lower back pain.

What does a treatment session involve?

Our Acupuncturist will start with a functional muscle and orthopedic examination. Using targeted muscle strength tests to uncover weakness occurring with the muscles associated with your back pain. Additional range of motion tests and a gait analysis will also be provided to formulate a treatment course that is dependent on your situation. Treatment is then followed up using our Komyuniti Musculoskeletal Acu-Technique ™ . The first treatment will usually restore muscle strength and improve the range of motion to assisting the process of recovery. However, with all therapies the results are always varied depending on each individual’s situation.
